Spinach is happy in the cold frames. It’s been well below zero the last couple nights and snowing the last couple days. I’m ready to start eating all this spinach up in omelettes every morning.

I’ve been making soaps the last week with things

I’ve been making soaps the last week with things I got from the garden or my beehives this past year. This is a milk and honey soap. Made with goats milk and raw honey and pollen straight from the hive. I’ve also done a chamomile and honey soap, lavender and goats milk, and a charcoal and rose clay one!

I’m sad I can’t ship outside of Colorado due to licensing laws here, but I will have some honey and beeswax soaps available in the future that I can ship anywhere! HONEY SALE! Tomorrow (Wednesday 11/25) at 10am MT all the honey I have for 2020 will go live online at http://secondbreakfasthoney.com Here's a few things you should know about this honey sale...
1. Quantities are limited, I expect to sell out fast. You will want to be online ready to go at that time.
2. I can legally only ship within the state of Colorado, or you can do a local pickup. Sorry I know that's a bummer, but it's what I'm legally licensed for.
3. Honey will ship around December 4th (next week). This ship date was scheduled because I will need time to process, pack, and ship all the orders. It is also when USPS can come by and pick up all the shipments. If you select local pick up it will be available for pickup around that same date.
4. Honey crystallizes! It's completely normal. Some types crystalize faster than others, but eventually, all honey crystallizes. That does not mean it should be thrown out (honey never gets old). It's a combination of the types of sugars in the nectars collected at that time. Crystallization is also affected by the raw nature of honey. If it has more pollen, wax, and propolis in it, those will form crystals quicker. If your honey crystallizes this is an indication that it is truly raw and has all the benefits of raw honey. The fall honey will crystalize much quicker than the spring honey this year based on what the bees were foraging at the time. When your honey does crystalize just put the bottle in a hot water bath (not boiling) and let it sit for 30 minutes. It will liquefy and be squeezable again.
